The sprinkler head donut is engineered to prevent grass from growing into sprinkler heads or over them in a way that may block the spray pattern and reduce uniformity. The 2 in. version, which is ideal for pop-up sprays in long grass, uses the sprinkler donut sod cutter (sold separately) to remove sod in a precise 7 in. circle around spray head sprinklers, remove the cap from the spray head body or the flush head from the sprinkler riser, place the sprinkler head donut on the ground, and then replace the sprinkler head.
