Connector screws have a large shoulder under the head that locks the screw into the wood and prevents pulling through into softer materials. They act like a steel dowel forming a strong, stiff butt joint. A slight unthreaded portion at the tip makes it easy to line up holes during assembly. To install, simply align the two-pieces and drill a pilot hole with a specially-designed, Three-step bit. Hillman's connecting screws can be removed and reinstalled several times without loss of holding power. Contents have hex socket heads.
